It was a quiet summer morning. I woke up at 7:45 in the morning. As i was trying to wake up, I kept on trying to elicit my energy to be able to swim that day. I was sore from last nights 6 mile midnight bikeing marathon. So i dont know if i can elicit enough energy to try this. As i broke out the swimsuit my brother came into my room and he told me this "I hope you epically fail and drown to your death." as you can see my brother knows how to encourage people. what he did not know was I transcended into a different category of readiness. I was ready to do the 3 mile swim in the 32 degree water.
As i started i saw my dad up on the deck of my friends summer house, in Idaho. her house was a big house, 3 stories tall and had decks one on top of the other. sense it was early in the morning there was a umbrage casted about 100 feet into the swim. even though it didn't it felt like the water droped to 29 degrees; that did not help mentally. When I was half way through my meritorious mission I could not feel my legs; that started to worry me. Even when i was half way across the lake i could hear my brother giving more encouraging words. "Hey dude If you die can I have your television." thats my brother for you.
three fourths of the way through and i could see the landing point. I had been under water for so long that i forgot about were I was going. thank the lord that that I was going the right way the whole entire time. I finally made it. I said to myself "Yes!" even though it was 3 miles I was proud because I was 10 years old and everything was bigger then. Then my dad yelled "Great job son!" I gave a little grin on my face. But what crushed me was when he added a little more. "Son we don't have a ride over there. Your going to have to swim back."
